On 28 January, 2019 UGent (University of Ghent) kicked off the VLINDER project (VLaanderen IN DE weeR) with the students from the Heilig Graf College in Turnhout in partnership with AllThingsTalk. This is the 1st IoT Citizen Science Project in Belgium. The project aims to capture weather data in more widespread and diverse areas to gain a better insight into environmental influences on the weather.

The VLINDER project invites more schools to assemble the weather stations and look for relevant locations to install them.

The first 50 weather stations, will be spread across Flanders and Brussels and will be connected to the Orange NB-IoT Network.  All the data will be collected using the UGent Spaces on the  AllThingsTalk IoT Platform and will be shared with everyone interested  (schools, cities and individuals) on the UGent Vlinder project webpage.

Are you interested to start your own project ?
